Directions to the Spoken Language Systems Group
The Spoken Language Systems group is part of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial
Intelligence Laboratory. Our offices are located on the fourth
floor of the Gates tower within the Ray and Maria Stata Center
located at 32
Vassar Street in Cambridge . It is located on the northeastern
edge of the MIT campus, at the intersection of Vassar Street and Main
Street. The Stata Center is also known in MIT lingo
as
building 32.

MIT is located on the north shore of the Charles
River Basin in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. The campus is within 3
miles of two major interstate highways, less than 6 miles from Logan
airport, and is accessible via public transportation. MIT is a 15-30
minute walk from downtown Boston (depending on the weather). MIT is a
20-40 minute walk from Harvard University (located just up the river
from the MIT campus).
Parking Information
If possible, it is advisable to use public transportation to get to
the MIT campus. If you are near the T, you can take the red line to
Kendall Square station, and then walk to Stata (a 5 minute walk).
If you are driving to the campus, there are both on- and off-street
parking available. There is unmetered/untimed parking on Memorial
Drive and Vassar Street, metered parking on Massachusetts Avenue,
Main Street, and Broadway, and unmetered/timed parking on Albany
Street and Portland Street. Most of these spots fill up early in the
day however.
There are several nearby parking lots at which you may park for a
fee. The Technology Square Garage is located in between Main St and
Broadway. It is accessible between 300 Technology Square and Novartis
on Main Street, or off of Broadway. Another nearby public parking
garage is the Marriott Parking Garage located on Ames Street, next to
Legal Seafoods.
